Lera Hephner Returns to Lead Ojibwe Language & Culture

Circle of Life Academy in White Earth, Minnesota, introduces Lera Hephner as the new Director of Ojibwe Language and Culture for the 2026–2027 school year. Hephner brings years of experience in culturally infused education and a lifelong dedication to uplifting and empowering Ojibwe youth.

Lera first began her teaching career at Circle of Life Academy in 2016 and is excited to return home to serve the students, families, and community. Her passion for Ojibwe identity and language began at a young age. This deep connection guides her mission to support youth as they learn who they are and strengthen their cultural identity through language and traditional knowledge.

COLA looks forward to the positive impact Hephner will have on students and staff as she helps expand Ojibwe language learning, cultural programming, and community engagement.
